This Small Hive Beetle trap was designed to sit on the bottom board just where the beetles like to enter and hide.  The trap consists of a tray that you partially fill with a small amount of vegetable oil, a specially designed lid with 300 small slots, and a shim to place on the bottom board.  Attempting to escape from the bees, the beetles crawl through the slots to hide but instead fall into the oil and die.
